As founder of street style blog, In My Shoes, this chap knows a thing or two about throwing a good look together. QH chats to Carl Cunard...
How do you describe your personal style?
I would describe myself as simple but stylish using affordable items.
Where do you like to go when in London?
Recently, I have been so busy with my blogging I've had little time to get out on the town but I have started to explore with my restaurant choices and a recent place I fell in love with was sketch, it has different themed rooms and a really cool edge to it. Also I love to head to Radio Bar at ME London hotel for a few cocktails when I get a chance to let my hair down.
What was the last item of clothing you bought?
Most clothing I have received recently have been gifted. I guess this is a perk of being a successful blogger, although I did purchase a cheeky pair of shoes recently from Kurt Geiger as their new mens collection Is certainly one to watch out for.
How do you stay in shape? Talk us through typical week work out.
The gym, to me, is not a chore - it's a passion. I wake up every morning and look forward to my workout. I do feel that staying in shape is part of my job, being in front of a camera 24/7.
What were the reasons for setting up In My Shoes?
I have always had compliments from people about the outfits I pull together so felt it was time to share all my style secrets with the rest of the world. I thought with blogging becoming such a popular market for girls why not give this a go myself and do it for the boys.
What are your tips to good skin, teeth and hair?
Starting with my skin I have always experimented with different products. I have been told when having a facial that my skin is very sensitive so I tend to look for products that will help with this area. A brand I have been using recently that really works for me is a 3 step cleanse, tone and moisturise from La Roche Posay. My best advice to anyone would be to head to get a facial from a professional and let them tell you your skin type so then you can source the best products that suit your skin. Also a great little purchase i picked up recently was the Clinique exfoliating scrub. Once you have used this product you will be hooked, the feeling after use is amazing. it feels like someone has peeled off the old layer of your skin and left you with a fresh new feel.
My teeth are something I have always looked after - I love a good set of teeth *laughs*. I have used a few different teeth whitening brands but feel the best thing to do is make sure you clean them every morning and night before you go to bed.
My hair is something that is maintained every two weeks, with a trip to the barbers giving it that fresh feel. When doing my hair after a shower or wash I put a light product in before drying to give it a little bit of strength as I have very fluffy hair which makes it hard to style. Then once the hair is dried into place I add the tiniest bit of clay to give it the detail that it needs.
Where do you like to travel?
My second home is LA, I try to get over there as much as I can. I will be heading back Hollywood in May for 10 days, I can't wait. Also, another destination that I frequently travel to is Lanzarote, my family head over there four or five times a year and one with all the family. It's got great weather, stunning scenery and a very friendly community.
What is the one item of clothing you couldn’t live without?
My wardrobe is full with leather jackets so this is one essential item that I couldn't live without. perfect for a daytime or nighttime look.
I said a couple of years ago I felt 2016 was going to be my year and I stand by that. This year has started off with a bang with my blog, working with some great brands such a ASOS, NewLook, Allsaints and now Kurt Geiger. I'm also looking to progress further in my TV presenting career so who knows what's around the corner.
