Having concurred Instagram with over 583k followers, this male model is fast becoming a YouTube fitness star. QH caught up with Nic Palladino...
Where do you call home?
Home for me is Portland, Oregon. Even though I have been travelling quite often the last couple years, I always find time to spend a few months back home each year.
How long have you been modelling and how did you start?
I have been modelling for seven years. The first few years consisted of small local gigs until I graduated high school. The summer following my high school graduation my mother agent called me with news about an LA agency wanting to sign me and fly me down to be on stay for a month or so. This was my first big and serious step in the direction of modelling. I ended up staying in LA for a month and absolutely loved it. After a month in LA I headed back home and within a month I was off to Miami for the first time. And from there things started to pick up as I got older.
You grew up playing soccer, do you still get time to play?
I remember kicking the ball around at a very young age. I was always fairly quick and had great cardiovascular endurance so at a young age I always played a couple years up until about middle school. I played competitively until the end of high school, that's when distance track took over. To be honest I haven't really touched a ball since I stopped playing competitively.
Run us through your typical work out for a week...
I usually start Mondays with chest, Tuesday I hit my back, and Wednesdays I use as a rest day. Thursday I do legs which consists of a lot of heavy squats. Friday I do shoulders followed by an arm workout on Saturday. And I take Sunday off to prepare for the next week. If I am bulking I usually don't do cardio, but if I need to lose some weight I will throw in a few cardio sessions here and there throughout the week, but nothing serious. My cardio equipment of choice is by far the treadmill. I set it at an incline and watch YouTube videos while I walk.
What are your passions outside of modelling and fitness?
I have always wanted to run my own business and be my own boss. I like to have control over my schedule and future as much as I can. Hopefully one day I can run a business that will allow me to do so. I also love dogs and I want to make it more of a priority this year to volunteer at shelters and help animals find homes.
Where would you recommend QH readers visiting when in your home town?
I honestly never really do much when I am back home. That is a question you should ask my brother! We have a MLS (Major League Soccer) team and their games can get pretty exciting, there are also tons of good local breweries as well. We have amazing hikes around Portland area too. In the summer hiking the Gorge and visiting some of our popular water falls can be a fun day trip for a picnic and cliff jumping.
What is your favourite guilty pleasure?
This is easy. Pizza, milkshakes and doughnuts all day.
Where in the world do you like to travel? Where will you be travelling next?
I really want to head to Europe for a quick trip. I want to visit Italy for sure, Paris, London and also Australia at some point.
What would you say is your best feature?
Hmm, I would probably have to say my eyes. A lot of people like my hair, but it's really a pain in the a**.
