 Rocket Gimlet & The Heritage cocktails
from The Bar at El Encanto

One of the most iconic hotels in Santa Barbara, Belmond El Encanto has enchanting views cross the town and Pacific ocean from high up in the hills amid lush gardens. The hotel shared two cocktail recipes from its bar for QH readers to savour the California flavours at home...

 

Rocket Gimlet

 

INGREDIENTS:

2 oz. St. George Terroir Gin

1 oz. fresh lime

½ oz. agave nectar 

Muddled arugula.

 

METHOD:

Shake and strain

Serve on the rocks

Garnish with a lime wheel on a cocktail pick.

 

 

The Heritage

 

INGREDIENTS: 

2 oz. Bulleit Rye

1 sugar cube

2 dashes of Angostura bitters

1 bar spoon of house infused spiced cherry juice.  

 

 

METHOD:

Muddle bitters and cherry juice soaked sugar cube with a teaspoon of water.  Stir in with ice the rye whisky, and top with fresh ice.  Express oils from a peeled orange rind and rub all along the rim of the glass.  Garnish with the orange rind and of course a house infused spiced cherry on a cocktail pick.
