Quel Homme visits The Penthouse Suite at discreet Mayfair hotel, 45 Park Lane, which spans over 170 square metres covering the entire top floor and is only accessible via a key-controlled lift, ensuring both privacy and security. It features two en-suite bedrooms, a dining room and living room, and a wrap-around terrace with panoramic views of the London Skyline. 

Style & design

Sleek, stylish and contemporary, the art-deco style interiors combine rich dark natural materials with light colours and soft textures - put expertly together by internationally acclaimed designer Thierry W. Despont.

 

The Penthouse living room features an original artwork by contemporary British artist Sir Peter Blake’ – “Dancing Girls over Rotten Row” hangs elegantly above the sleek fireplace.

What's the vibe?

45 Park Lane has lived various lives, including one particularly glamorous adventure as The Playboy Club. Nicknamed ‘the hutch on the park’ this was a fashionable 1960s hangout for London’s rich and famous. Today, the hotel is a cool, calm and club-like experience with a flair for modern art. A vibrant calendar of acclaimed and emerging artists adorn the lobby and BAR 45, so there is something new to see every time you visit. The first of 2021's artist exhibitions is the colourful Nat Bowen (pictured right).

On the edge of Hyde Park, The Penthouse has views to the West across the park and to the East you can spot the London Eye and some of the city's most iconic landmarks. 

At your doorstep you have London's best restaurants and members clubs, as well as being just a short stroll from Bond Street for some retail therapy.

45 Park Lane offers an unprecedented approach to service: every guest has their own personal host on hand as butler, concierge and bank of useful knowledge. Think of it as a personal assistant around the clock. The hotel recently launched a charming new terrace, CUT Out, with cocktails served from a fabulous Negroni Trolley.

The Food

The hotel is home to celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck's first restaurant in Europe: CUT at 45 Park Lane. An A-List favourite, CUT has become famous for the best steaks in London and under the helm of new executive chef Jamie Shears offers some gorgeous fish, vegetarian and vegan dishes inspired by the California coast. If you don't want to trouble yourself taking the personal elevator down to the ground floor then bring CUT to you in The Penthouse, as the full menu is available to enjoy in your own personal dining room.
